People who filed their state taxes early, may be getting their refunds earlier than expected.

Today, it was announced that the Department of Taxation will begin issuing those checks immediately, for people who had their paperwork processed during January and February. That's 43% of the tax filers, equaling about $125 million, or 60% of the claims to date.

The first refunds will be going out to people with automatic deposit on May 21. People without direct deposit will start seeing the checks some time after Friday, May 28.

The state had planned to delay the refunds until early July to offset the budget shortfalls. But now the state says tax revenue collections had improved for the first 10 months of this fiscal year, so the money can be released earlier.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued a tsunami warning for the State of Hawaii effective 12:46 a.m.

A tsunami warning means that a destructive wave, or waves, may have been generated by an 8.8 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Chile at 8:34 p.m. HST on Friday.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center estimates the first wave arrival time in Hawaii will be at about 11:19 a.m. today, Saturday, February 27, at Hilo.

Outdoor siren systems in each county will sound simultaneously at 6:00 a.m. to alert residents and visitors to evacuate coastal areas.

Residents will be advised by their respective county civil defense or emergency management agencies to evacuate coastal areas.

Residents are urged to follow civil defense instructions.

To determine whether or not you live or work in an evacuation zone, go to www.scd.hawaii.gov and enter your address in the Tsunami Evacuation Zone Mapping Tool, or check the Disaster Preparedness Guide in the front of your telephone directory.

So the one of the big news this week was a controversial UFO in the dark skies of Norway. Many thought at first that it was indeed a UFO, but infact it was a failed nuclear missle test from the Russian defense. It's still a spectacular sight to see a Bulava missle spin out of control causing a spiral and then forming to what it seems like a black hole in space. Here's some media and insight of what this whole "big of a deal" story came to be...

Not photoshopped. This is an actual picture!

Here's some videos of witnesses who caught it on camera:
