This past weekend came the huge announcement and open house for the newly built Kalaeloa Raceway Park! Finally after all the years of hard work from the KRP Project Members, the dream for a new race track has finally came true...
It's a fantastic day for Oahu motorsports enthusiasts! KRP is now officially authorized to begin running events! To set the record straight, we are a grassroots effort that will be running what we can on what we have available. Nothing is fully constructed yet, but we are well on our way. The facility will be constructed in phases with the first events consisting primarily dirt and mixed-terrain motorsports such as Sand/Mud Drags, Rally Cross, etc.
Our first Rallycross event will be held on Saturday, Sept 25th, with the first Sand Drag event the following day on Sunday, Sept 26th. Early in the month of October, there will be an official groundbreaking ceremony for the new 1/4th mile Dirt Oval. This is the first phase of the project.
The next phase will be the construction of the asphalt racing surfaces necessary to do drifting, autocross, go-karting, etc. For drag racers, we are working through the process in order to facilitate the construction of a drag strip...the best we can do at the moment will be a 60-footer test N' tune launch pad/burnout box, possibly more.
Nothing like chilling on a Sunday with live gun fire and the smell of gun powder in the morning. The boys decided to take out frustrations at the Koko Head shooting range. Enjoy!

So recently got the chance to check out the music video for "Hi-808" from the Seattle based hip hop duo Blue Scholars thanks to homegirl Stephanie posting it on Facebook. I'd say, I enjoyed the music video, fresh with a dope beat and lyrics with the ode to true Hawaii. Landmarks you see in this video will probably make you say "eh, I know dat place!" I spy, Aaron of Honozooloo...check!, Angry Woebots...check!, Lightsleepers...check!
I've seen this commercial on the HDTV the other day and loved it! The hamster hip hop version of Black Sheep's "The Choice is Yours" featuring the new KIA Soul got me rolling lol!
People who filed their state taxes early, may be getting their refunds earlier than expected.
Today, it was announced that the Department of Taxation will begin issuing those checks immediately, for people who had their paperwork processed during January and February. That's 43% of the tax filers, equaling about $125 million, or 60% of the claims to date.
The first refunds will be going out to people with automatic deposit on May 21. People without direct deposit will start seeing the checks some time after Friday, May 28.
The state had planned to delay the refunds until early July to offset the budget shortfalls. But now the state says tax revenue collections had improved for the first 10 months of this fiscal year, so the money can be released earlier.
The 7th installment of the Call of Duty series is set to launch on 11.09.10. Treyarch once again takes the stage to satisfy the COD fans thirst for war. As Infinity Ward successfully pulled out all stops for Modern Warfare 2, will Treyarch have the will to out-do it? We'll just have to find out.
It's rumored that Call of Duty: Black Ops takes place in the early Vietcong war. The teaser doesn't tell much until the commentary comes out. Take a look and you be the judge.
